The Outpatient Pharmacy Technician I is the entry, developmental, and training level of the Pharmacy Technician Job Family that performs, under supervision of a pharmacist, general pharmacy operations including preparing and dispensing medication doses, and non-sterile compounding for both hazardous and non-hazardous drugs. Demonstrates a basic understanding of the responsibilities regarding medication and pharmacy operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.
* Performs non-sterile compounding of hazardous and non-hazardous drugs.
* Answers telephones and responds to requests at window promptly and courteously
* Submits billing information to third-party payor for claim adjudication.
* Orders supplies and checks for shortages, rotates stock, and removes expired medications.
* Accurately prepares medications for pharmacist to verify.
* Checks insurance eligibility on portals/websites (ie Medi-Cal, CCS) and interprets information
* Dispenses medications to patients and couriers following proper procedures.
* Runs basic pharmacy operation reports.
* May perform basic patient registration duties.
* Utilizes pharmacy resources for accurate documentation of assigned tasks.
* Assists with projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: None required.

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $38.91 to $43.63
