Electrocardiograph (EKG) Technician

Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a Electrocardiograph Technician to join our dynamic team at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center.

Work Hours:

• (8) hours per day from 0730 to 1600 Monday through Friday.
• All holidays are observed.
• Lunch or dinner meal periods: employees that works an 8-hourshift shall be entitled to two (2) 15-minute breaks and one (1) 30-minute mealbreak.
• 40 hours per week.

Requirements:

• Be able to operate instruments used to record electrocardiograms, exercise tolerancetests, 24-48 heart monitoring and scanning, and pacemaker evaluations. Certificationis offered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a CertifiedCardiographic Technician (CCT).
• Be knowledgeable of typical patient reactions and signs of medical/physical/psychological distress including ability to recognize report and treat potentially lethalarrhythmias.
• Be knowledge of common ECG equipment settings and standardized operatingprocedures and also knowledgeable of common errors and corrective measures.
• Have the ability to demonstrate proper ECG lead placement.
• Possess knowledge of medical terminology.
• Have the ability to modify procedure/lead positioning to obtain correct results withpatients with complicated conditions such as amputations, Parkinson's disease, andstructural defects (e.g. scarred tissue).
• Be knowledgeable in Operation Monitoring such as watching gauges, dials, or otherindicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
• Have basic computer skills. Must be knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Software(e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).
