Responsibilities
- Own mechanical design and packaging of avionics and sensor systems across development, test, and flight
- Create 3D models, production 2D drawings, and tolerance analyses for assemblies and parts
- Drive changes to improve reliability and manufacturability, applying DFX and GD&T principles
- Design and execute benchtop and environmental validation tests; lead test setups and data collection
- Perform root cause investigations, simulations, and analysis to characterize limits and mitigate risk
- Collaborate with electrical systems, test, and manufacturing teams for integration and production support
- Develop sensors and avionics packages for pressure, acceleration, flow, optical, and electrical components
- Support post-flight analysis and continuous improvement of flight hardware
Education
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (required)
