- Strong foundation in structural and fluid dynamics and first-principles physics
- Finite element modeling and lumped parameter modeling
- Experience with dynamic testing, instrumentation and signal processing
- Data analysis in Python and MATLAB
- Experience with NASTRAN (DMAP a plus) and other FEA tools
- Familiarity with turbomachinery/combustion dynamics, vibration and shock testing
- Ability to solve ordinary differential equations and work across disciplines
Responsibilities
- Resolve dynamics issues through analysis, testing and flight data correlation
- Build finite element and lumped element models of launch vehicle systems
- Plan and execute dynamic testing (pre-test analysis, instrumentation, test, data processing)
- Perform signal processing, data analysis and model correlation
- Own system-level dynamics analysis and drive hardware or operations changes across teams
- Develop and run analyses using commercial and in-house codes and write new analysis code as needed
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Graduate degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or related field (preferred)
