Technical Operator III

Are you passionate about the technical side of television production and ready to be the backbone that keeps live broadcasts running smoothly? The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Technical Operations Support professional out of our Atlanta office to provide essential, hands-on support ensuring smooth operations in our control room and studio environments. This role is perfect for someone who thrives under pressure and wants to be at the center of live television production.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Provide technical support for remote guests using various video conferencing platforms
  • Provide support in managing incoming signals from the field
  • Organize and ingest video from field crews and affiliates for editorial use
  • Act as the primary technical support for operations for control room and studio for specified times
  • Work with network engineering and operations to ensure needs are met in control room and studio

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Associates degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred
  • Specialized training/certification may be required
  • Generally, 5+ years of experience in related field preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Must work well under the pressure of a live broadcast
  • Must be able to make quick decisions and give accurate instructions
  • Ability to solve problems under pressure and apply hands-on knowledge to do so
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues over the phone with remote guests
  • Possess excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must understand the entire scope of needs in the studio and control room
  • Good knowledge of IT applications in relation to television broadcast equipment
  • Flexible work hours are required, including weekends, holidays, and possible overtime hours
