- Previous healthcare experience and comfort in a clinical setting
- Experience with EMR software and patient scheduling systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent patient relations and customer service skills
- Strong verbal communication and organizational skills
- Ability to assist with dermatology procedures and cosmetic treatments
Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure equipment is working at the start of each shift
- Assist physicians with medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures
- Record treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions and prior authorizations per guidelines
- Provide pre-care and post-care instructions to patients
- Perform inventory, restock supplies, and scan retail/cosmetic products daily
- Use EMR to document patient encounters and manage scheduling
- Support provider-patient flow and anticipate provider needs
- Cover flexible Per Diem shifts including rotating Saturdays as needed
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Nationally Certified Medical Assistant preferred (or equivalent MA certification)
