Skills
- Strong understanding of orbital mechanics and orbit determination theory
- Experience in mission design and flight dynamics
- Proficiency with mission analysis tools (STK, Astrogator, GMAT, Monte, Copernicus, or equivalent)
- Python software development experience
- Familiarity with Git (or equivalent) and Jira (or equivalent)
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD US Government Secret clearance (or active clearance)
- U.S. citizenship or ability to meet ITAR requirements
Responsibilities
- Perform tracking, navigation, maneuver planning and trajectory design for Earth, lunar, and interplanetary missions
- Design and execute collision avoidance and orbital maneuver operations
- Develop and maintain ground-side automation and scripting in Python for flight dynamics workflows
- Perform mission analysis using tools such as STK, Astrogator, GMAT, Monte, or equivalent
- Support orbit determination and estimation activities
- Operate under time-critical conditions and coordinate with Systems, GNC, Flight Software, Avionics, Propulsion, Thermal, and Ground Software teams
- Use version control (Git) and project tracking tools (Jira) to manage code and tasks
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Space Systems, Software Engineering, Applied Physics, or equivalent
- Master’s degree in Aerospace or related field preferred
