Staff Software Engineer, Crypto Custody
Skills
- 6+ years building and scaling blockchain custody systems in regulated environments
- Proficiency in Python and/or Go and cloud-native architectures (AWS, Kubernetes)
- Practical experience with multisignature and MPC custody models, HSMs, and custody vendors
- Deep knowledge of blockchain protocols including UTXO (Bitcoin) and account-based models (Ethereum, Solana)
- Strong documentation-first mindset and security-focused engineering practices
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Own and scale custodial and non-custodial custody programs for new assets, products, and markets
- Design and implement custody services (transaction signing, policy enforcement, reconciliation, monitoring)
- Transform manual custody operations into automated, policy-driven, resilient systems
- Drive system-wide reliability, scalability, and audit-ready processes across custody infrastructure
- Lead secure key ceremonies and physical custody processes with precise, documented procedures
- Partner cross-functionally with infrastructure, security, compliance, finance, and risk teams
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced degree preferred but not required
