Senior Manager of Crypto Operations, Risk

Robinhood Crypto is building a scalable, compliant crypto business and seeks a senior risk leader to establish and run an end-to-end crypto risk program. This role will define risk appetite, governance, KRIs, enterprise and product risk assessments, issue management, and enterprise resilience while partnering closely with Compliance, Security, Engineering, Product, Legal, and Internal Audit.

Skills

  • Deep understanding of crypto products and infrastructure (trading, custody, staking, wallets, keys).
  • Proven experience building KRIs, RCSAs, and enterprise risk assessment frameworks.
  • Experience with regulatory expectations (NYDFS/BitLicense, OFAC/FinCEN, MiCA, DORA) and audit interactions.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise resilience (BIA, BCP, DRP) and incident management.
  • Comfortable using analytics and BI tools (Looker, Superset) to build dashboards and narratives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Define and mature the crypto risk management strategy, policies, and operating model.
  • Establish Risk Appetite Statements and implement a KRI framework with thresholds, alerts, and escalation paths.
  • Lead Enterprise and Product Risk Assessments, RCSAs, and change/feature risk reviews pre-launch.
  • Oversee issue, incident, and remediation lifecycle, run post-incident root-cause reviews and corrective actions.
  • Build executive-ready dashboards and risk reporting (monthly/quarterly) in partnership with data teams.
  • Serve as primary risk counterpart for regulatory examinations and audits; coordinate evidence and remediation.
  • Own enterprise resilience activities including BIA, BCP, DRP, and testing cycles.
  • Partner with Security, Engineering, and Vendor Management on custody, infrastructure, access/change, and third-party risks.
  • Define GRC tooling requirements and drive automation and process improvements.
  • Recruit, lead, and develop a small high-performing crypto risk team; manage budget and vendors.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MA, MS, MBA) preferred but not required.
