Risepoint’s Strategy function leads the company’s evolution into a next-generation partner for universities—fusing rigorous analytics, market insight, and operational connectivity to drive innovation, growth, and shareholder value. We oversee corporate strategy, new business ventures, advanced analytics, market intelligence, and major cross-functional transformations.
As part of this work, we are catalyzing an enterprise-wide shift to become a tech- and AI-enabled platform. That means reimagining how we serve students and the execution of M&A integrations. partners, redesigning how work gets done, and investing in differentiated, scalable capabilities across the student lifecycle.
Role Summary
The VP, Business Transformation, will serve as the connective tissue and driving force behind Risepoint’s most critical transformation efforts. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, this role will work closely with the CEO, CSO, and Executive Team to establish the a Transformation Management Office which will help coordinate and problem solve key areas related to Risepoint’s ambitious transformation to become a tech-enabled services company, as well as other major programs. This person will work across functions to embed the drumbeat of transformation—driving pace, ownership, visibility, and problem-solving as we evolve into a scalable, data- and AI-driven organization.
This isn’t a traditional PMO or strictly a change management role. We’re looking for a strategic operator with technical fluency—someone who can scope ambiguous challenges, align senior leaders, solve cross-functional problems, and accelerate the execution of our 2027 vision. The VP of Business Transformation will also constitute and lead a Digital Transformation Advisory Board of external experts who can support Risepoint’s vision with relevant insights and direction.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and drive Risepoint’s holistic transformation roadmap—including pace, visibility, coordination, accountability across teams and overarching governance with CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Directors
Partner with SVP Student Success, SVP Marketing & Operations Strategy, VP Product Strategy, SVP Analytics & Commercial, SVP Corporate Strategy, as well as SVPs and VPs throughout the Technology organization, to surface and deliver tech- and AI-enabled solutions to core workflow and service model challenges
Lead complex transformation workstreams—serving as interim owner and strategic problem-solver
Define success metrics and transformation KPIs in partnership with functional leaders; track progress and intervene when milestones are at risk
Support cross-functional initiatives (e.g., Student Success Center automation, marketing tech stack evolution, data architecture modernization, AI agent development and deployment across the enterprise) to accelerate design and delivery of new solutions
Identify and leverage external expertise to support Risepoint’s transformation journey in two key ways: (1) Scope and form Digital Transformation Advisory Board to allow Risepoint to tap into experts both within and beyond Higher Ed Services who have championed and delivered Digital Transformations (2) Build an extensive informal network across companies and industries to bring in best practices related to complex transformation efforts (including Digital Transformation, M&A Integration, etc.)
Work with the People organization and key leadership to help shape upskilling and talent strategies related to major transformation efforts
Serve as a visible champion of transformation—modeling resilience, transparency, and urgency, especially across SLT and frontline leadership
Lead M&A integration planning and implementation efforts as we continue to acquire complementary businesses
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s required; Master’s (MBA or technical/ quantitative field) preferred
Experience
10+ years leading tech-enabled transformation efforts, ideally in a services or platform business.
Management consulting background (to level of Project Leader/Engagement Manager at a minimum)
Prior exposure to EdTech, higher ed, or adjacent industries is a plus (as consultant or in-house)
Strategy/Execution: Strong background in managing complex, cross-functional initiatives with executive visibility; able to connect strategic goals to tactical execution
Change Management: Deep experience leading major change agendas and projects and building the internal apparatus to bring the organization along.
Technical Fluency: Comfort working with product managers, data scientists, and engineers on issues like AI enablement, data productization, or workflow redesign
Leadership: Experience leading through influence in matrixed orgs; demonstrated success in upskilling teams, leading change, and navigating ambiguity
Communication: Executive presence; able to write clearly, distill complexity into clarity, and build alignment across stakeholders of varying technical depth
