Print Production Graphic Designer

Specialist, Graphic Designer Position Profile

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Production Print Graphic Designer to join our team. This role focuses on designing and preparing high-quality print materials that align with brand standards and production specifications. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite on a Mac, follow brand guidelines provided by customers, and balance a workload of 70% production print and 30% design work—including file fixes, preflighting, templating, and occasional full design projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service and represents Ricoh professionally.
  • Strong organizational, customer service, and follow-up skills.
  • Develops artistic concepts into visual media.
  • Designs using InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver on Mac and PC platforms.
  • Provides graphic consultation and support to internal and client stakeholders.
  • Responsible for production art including layout for print, packaging, advertising, point-of-purchase, and digital graphics.
  • Meets customer quality and design requirements.
  • Designs and formats multi-page documents using style sheets and mapping.
  • Stays current with industry trends, ideas, and technologies.
  • Uses innovation to meet design briefs within cost, time, and client constraints.
  • Adheres to legal requirements related to duplication, printing, software, and fonts.
  • Follows production schedules and meets deadlines.
  • Consults with clients and staff to identify graphic needs, budget constraints, and project timelines.
  • Reviews proofs and collaborates with printers on production.
  • Manages digital asset libraries and technologies.
  • May coordinate and lead other designers.
  • Creates and conceptualizes brand identities using logos, layouts, and color palettes.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Certifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design preferred, or equivalent coursework/certification.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proven design and layout abilities.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Print production experience preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong graphic design and layout skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in changing situations.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and output standards.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Deadline-oriented mindset.
Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands
  • Typically works in an office environment with standard lighting, ventilation, and noise levels.
  • Regular internal contact with team members and external contact with clients, vendors, and the public.
  • Work assignments may require developing new solutions to resolve problems.
  • Physical effort may include walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Moderate dexterity required for operating tools and equipment (e.g., keyboard, calculator, hand tools).
