Responsibilities
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising OT
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and use of adaptive equipment
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety strategies
- Monitor, document, and report patient progress to the supervising OT
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation
- Travel to patient homes and manage a caseload with appropriate time management
Education
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential
- State licensure/registration as required to practice as a COTA
