Responsibilities
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising OT
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, activities, and use of adaptive equipment
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe function strategies
- Monitor, document and report patient progress to the supervising OT
- Collaborate with nurses, PTs and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate, timely patient records and documentation
- Manage schedule and travel to patient homes; follow mileage reporting policies
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Graduation from an accredited OTA/OTA program and COTA certification
- State licensure or registration as required
