Staff Structures Test Engineer
Skills
- Expert-level structural analysis (NASTRAN or similar)
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and drafting with expert GD&T knowledge
- Experience designing and building metallic structures
- Ability to create fabrication drawings and manage procurement
- Hands-on assembly, commissioning, and test operations experience
- Project management and cross-team communication
- Familiarity with welding, metalworking, hydraulics, and shop practices (preferred)
- Ability to automate workflows using Python, VBA, or similar (preferred)
- Comfort working in hazardous/industrial environments and at heights
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze static and dynamic test stands and fixtures
- Produce fabrication drawings and manage procurement for test hardware
- Oversee assembly, commissioning, and operation of test stands
- Review and approve test stand designs and ensure compliance with requirements
- Drive cross-functional stakeholder alignment and resolve complex test constraints
- Mentor and advise engineers across the test department
- Manage projects through the full design cycle from requirements to deployed asset
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required)
- Advanced degree in engineering (preferred)
