Analytical Lab Technician
Skills
- Hands-on sample preparation and lab technique experience
- Familiarity with ICP-OES, XRF, auto-titration, or similar analytical instrumentation
- Experience with LIMS and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for data entry and reporting
- Strong documentation and data integrity practices
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic instrument maintenance and verifications
- Comfort with PPE (lab coats, respirators, coveralls) and chemical/waste handling
- Basic chemistry math and calculations
- Ability to work rotating C-shift schedule and in varied environments (wet lab, chemical plant, outdoor test sites)
Responsibilities
- Prepare samples for analysis using established laboratory techniques and protocols.
- Perform routine chemical, metallurgical, and metrology analyses (ICP-OES, XRF, titration, tensile/material property testing as applicable).
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and verify laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Collect and record test data, enter results into LIMS and other data systems, and maintain good documentation practices.
- Perform laboratory organization, inventory management, safety audits, waste handling, and assist with special projects.
- Work in a production environment to sample and test physical material characteristics.
- Follow PPE requirements and safe work practices; lift and move materials as required (regularly up to 35 lbs).
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or related field OR
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant laboratory or production experience
