- Deep experience with embeddings, representation learning, and state-of-the-art model architectures (GNNs, transformers, foundational models).
- Strong background in designing scalable, reliable ML infrastructure and self-service platforms.
- Experience with production data storage, retrieval, and indexing of large vector/embedding datasets.
- Excellent cross-functional communication, stakeholder management, and roadmap planning skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team focused on embeddings and ML platform services (hiring, mentoring, performance management).
- Define technical roadmap and architecture for a unified embeddings platform supporting storage, retrieval, governance, and serving.
- Drive development of foundational embeddings using architectures like GNNs, transformers, and large sequence/foundational models.
- Partner with ML researchers, MLEs, infrastructure, and product teams to prioritize use cases and ensure platform adoption.
- Establish best practices for productionization, versioning, governance, and lifecycle management of ML features and embeddings.
- Deliver high-leverage, cross-functional projects that improve scalability, reliability, and developer experience.
- Communicate status, trade-offs, and timelines to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ensure platform reliability, performance monitoring, and cost-effective operation at large scale.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in ML/CS or related field is preferred but not required.
