Pro tip: action verb + what you did + why it mattered.
forget buzzwords. “led weekly team check-ins to track project progress” hits harder than “collaborated in agile environments” imo.
My rule now is: if I wouldn’t say it out loud to a human, it doesn’t go on the resume.
I used to write orchestrated cross-team initiatives when all I did was book meetings
No because “leveraged synergies” makes me want to cry 💀 just say you worked with other teams omg.
so I’ve been updating my resume and keep running into the same problem: how the heck do you phrase stuff in a way that sounds good but not fake or try-hard? like I know I helped manage projects and lead meetings, but when I write “Collaborated cross-functionally with stakeholders…” I literally gag a little lol.
is that how people actually phrase things? or is there a better way to sound professional without feeling like you copied a LinkedIn influencer?
