Skills
- Advanced process design and systems-level thinking
- PFD, P&ID development and review
- Heat and material balances and process calculations
- Familiarity with unit operations: fluids/solids handling, heat transfer, reactions, separations, drying
- Experience with process simulation tools (ChemCAD preferred)
- CAD skills (AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks) and process diagramming (Visio preferred)
- Estimating and proposal preparation
- Technical leadership and mentoring
- Knowledge of relevant process industry codes, standards, and regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication
Responsibilities
- Act as technical lead for complex or high‑risk chemical engineering challenges on capital projects.
- Develop and own core process deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, heat & material balances, equipment lists, specifications).
- Lead requirements gathering, concept and preliminary design, and vendor engagement.
- Build process models and drawings using CAD and process simulation tools; prepare technical documentation.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables and provide technical mentorship and feedback.
- Lead and participate in internal and client design reviews and technical meetings.
- Coordinate with mechanical, structural, electrical, controls, fabrication, and field service teams.
- Contribute to estimating, proposal development, and schedule creation with project management and business development.
- Support startup, commissioning, and field activities as required.
Education
- BS or MS in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent)
