Penn State Dickinson Law in both University Park and Carlisle are seeking teaching assistant for the Legal Writing program for Academic Year 2025-2026.
Current Penn State Dickinson Law student qualify to serve as a TA if you earned a grade of at least B+ in both first-year legal writing classes. These openings are open to both rising 1Ls and 2Ls.

Your cover letter should include why you would like to be a TA and what attributes you possess that would make you a successful one. Please send your materials by Monday, June 9 at 5:00 p.m.
Job Duties
Each teaching assistant will be assigned to a professor who is teaching legal writing at their location.
- Teaching assistants will be required to hold a weekly office hour.
- Advise first-year law students on legal writing exercises and problems.
- Assist in teaching classes on grammar and proper bluebook citations.
- Additional teaching assistant duties will be assigned by each professor.
The time commitment varies from week to week but averages 2-5 hours per week. All teaching assistants will be required to attend trainings throughout the academic year.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Current Penn State Dickinson Law students with an eligible work-study award are preferred but it is open to all law students that meet all other requirements. Please check with the Director of Financial Aid to see if you qualify for work-study.

The starting hourly rate for this job is $14.00.
