The Center for Industrial Progress (CIP) is seeking high-impact writers to help us create the persuasive, pro-freedom messaging and policies that we believe are necessary to unleash American energy.
About the company
The Center for Industrial Progress (CIP) is a for-profit think tank dedicated to unleashing energy freedom—where all sources of energy compete to deliver the most reliable, lowest-cost power for billions of people.
We are doing this by creating messaging and policies that are 1) comprehensive (covering every imaginable issue), 2) convenient (broken up into tweet-length points), 3) compelling (they work on a general audience), and 4) customized (for major political offices we offer free, on-demand policy and messaging help).
Today our content is used by over 200+ major federal offices and dozens of top federal agency officials. Read some of our public content here. To get a sense of the scale of our impact, see here, here, and here.
The founder and lead content creator of CIP is Alex Epstein, the author of The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels and Fossil Future. To learn more about Alex, check out his X and personal website.
About the role
Content creation at CIP is a collaboration between writers/communicators and technical experts. Writers draw on the knowledge and insight of experts to gain clarity, then produce policy and messaging content that is consumer-friendly (easy for the reader to understand) and impact-oriented (designed to advance specific energy freedom goals).

Warning: We are an unusual company with an unusual mission, and as such, we are looking for an unusual kind of person. If you fit these criteria, we would love to hear from you.
About you:
Note: You do not need to have pre-existing expertise in energy, but it's a bonus.
If an employer mentions a salary or salary range on their job, we display it as an "Employer Estimate". If a job has no salary data, Rise displays an estimate if available.
