Assistant Health Center Director

Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central and Southern New Jersey, Inc. (PPNCSNJ) provides comprehensive reproductive and sexual health care, abortion services, education and information to women, men and teens at 17 health centers throughout 18 counties in New Jersey.


Pay: $70-$80k /year

Hours: 35 hr work week, Exempt

Schedule: Full Time, 5-day work week

Job Description:



JOB REQUIREMENTS:



Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required. College coursework or degree (Associates or Bachelor’s) a strong plus. Medical office certification and CPR certified preferred.


Experience: Minimum five (5) years' experience in a healthcare setting required, preferably women’s health.


Other Requirements: Bi-lingual in English and Spanish desirable. Valid NJ State driver’s license. Reliable transportation to travel throughout the service area.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Assistant Health Center Director performs a wide range of duties, including, but not limited to the following:


1. Supervises Medical Assistant staff and provides feedback and coaching, as needed.

2. Delegates assignments of staff responsibilities to ensure appropriate coverage and patient flow.

3. Prepares and distributes daily schedules in advance to ensure all staff is informed of assigned work flow.

4. Assists Health Center Director in follow-up process of abnormal lab work according to PPFA guidelines.

5. Directs clinic flow and performs patient triage.

6. Assists with inventory and ordering of supplies.

7. Assists in emergency situations as needed.

8. Handles routine cash flow and office procedures as necessary.

9. Prepares and manages escort schedules for bank deposits, including staff notification and submission of approved escort forms to Finance for bi-weekly payment of escort services.

10. Assists in preparation and coordination of monthly staff and other Center meetings.

11. Assists in ensuring the Center and facility are appropriately maintained.

12. Assists Health Center Director with Quality and Risk Management activities.

13. Assists Health Center Director with facilitation and implementation of performance improvement plans.

14. Assists Health Center Director with on-boarding and training of Center staff.

15. Provides training, supervision, and guidance to Center volunteers.

16. Assumes responsibility for the operation of the Center in the absence of the Health Center Director.

17. Participates in the Affiliate’s efforts related to revenue cycle, which include but are not limited to: Coding properly; achieving goals for productivity; meeting or exceeding revenue targets; and expense management as budgeted.

19. Participates in all training and education requirements to stay current in: daily tasks, license requirements (as appropriate), technology trainings (ex: NextGen, SecuReach, etc.) updates in MSGs, required trainings (ex: CAL, policy reviews, etc.), and others as appropriate.

20. Travels throughout the Affiliate’s service area as required.

21. Performs other duties as assigned in support of mission and as required to ensure delivery of consistent high quality services.
