Skills
- Strong experience with the Roku platform (SceneGraph, BrightScript)
- Familiarity with React/Redux concepts and component-driven UI
- Front-end performance optimization for TV devices
- Experience writing unit tests and integrating with CI
- Understanding of video playback and 10-foot UX constraints
- Ability to run experiments and interpret telemetry/metrics
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the Philo Roku application and UI components
- Implement high-performance 10-foot UX features (guide, browsing, PiP, overlays)
- Run experiments, monitor metrics, and analyze impact of feature releases
- Contribute to UX and product design decisions using platform expertise
- Create and improve developer tooling and Storybook-like environments for BrightScript components
- Write and maintain Rooibos unit tests and CI pipelines
- Collaborate with frontend, backend, and product teams to deliver production releases
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field (or equivalent experience)
- Comfort with engineering fundamentals and pragmatic product development
