- Reliable travel to patient homes (valid driver’s license and insured vehicle)
- Strong verbal and written communication
Responsibilities
- Deliver PT treatments per the PT’s instructions and physician’s plan of care
- Perform active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training
- Provide transfer training and prosthetic/orthotic device instruction
- Apply physical agents and modalities (heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, massage)
- Monitor and report patient response and condition changes to the Physical Therapist
- Instruct patients and caregivers on mobility, device use, and home exercise programs
- Complete and maintain clinical notes and documentation within prescribed timeframes
- Travel to patient homes and safely navigate stairs and household barriers
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Associate of Science or Applied Science (PTA) approved by APTA
- Current CPR certification
