Staff Software Engineer
Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with .NET / C# (preferred) and/or PHP for backend services and APIs.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other relational databases, including schema design and performance tuning.
- Experience designing, deploying, and operating cloud-based solutions on AWS.
- Experience with distributed systems, focusing on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Knowledge of SDLC and agile development practices.
- Familiarity with secure coding and compliance-aware development (OWASP, PCI, SOC 2, HIPAA).
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (HTTPS, DNS, SSL/TLS).
- Experience improving testing, observability, and production support.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to technical design and implementation of partner-facing systems across Partner Activation and Partner Administration.
- Design and build scalable, secure, and maintainable backend services and APIs using established architectural patterns.
- Collaborate with engineering managers, product managers, designers, and engineers to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
- Write, review, and maintain high-quality code with emphasis on reliability and long-term maintainability.
- Identify technical risks and opportunities for improvement and raise them proactively.
- Improve testing, observability, and operational readiness for production systems.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Or equivalent professional experience in software engineering for commercial environments.
