Responsibilities
- Perform histology tasks including tissue embedding, microtomy, and staining (H&E and special stains) to produce analysis-ready slides.
- Assist with animal necropsies and grossing to ensure proper sample preparation and documentation per study protocols.
- Operate whole-slide imaging (WSI) systems and perform Micro-CT scanning to generate high-quality digital datasets.
- Execute precise data capture tasks (e.g., thread counting) and assist with algorithm tuning or image analysis workflows.
- Maintain laboratory materials, supplies, reagents, and inventory systems to support day-to-day operations.
- Document experimental procedures and results following Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and SOPs; provide SOP feedback for improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Pathologists, Veterinary Medicine, and Preclinical teams to support study clarity and efficiency.
- Aggregate images and data to create exhibits and reports for study deliverables.
- Actively pursue feedback and learning opportunities to grow technical skills and contribute to team improvements.
Education
- BA/BS in Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, Neuroscience, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, or related field
- OR associate degree with equivalent laboratory experience
