Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

In addition to all of our internships being paid, we will also offer the following for our Summer 2026 interns:

Summer 2026 Recruitment Timeline:  

November 10 – December 5: Applications Open (may close early due to applicant volume) 

Mid November – Late December: First round video interviews  

Mid – Late January: Second round interviews 

Late January – February: Selected candidates receive offers 

Summer 2026 Internship Program:

  • Applications Close: December 5th at 11:59pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – applications could close earlier due to applicant volume!
  • Program Dates: June 1 – August 7, 2026
  • Time Commitment: 40 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. 
  • Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Miami, FL.

NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises is a world-class media company leading the industry in the production and distribution of high-quality, Spanish-language content to U.S. Hispanics and audiences around the world. This fast-growing multiplatform portfolio is comprised of the Telemundo Network, Telemundo Deportes, Telemundo Global Studios, Universo, and a Digital Enterprises & Emerging Business unit. Telemundo Network features original Spanish-language entertainment, news and sports content. Telemundo Deportes is the designated Spanish-language home of two of the world’s most popular sporting events: FIFA World Cup™ through 2026 and the Summer Olympic Games through 2032. Telemundo Global Studios is the company’s domestic and international scripted production unit.

Production Services

The Telemundo Operations & Technology Production Services internship offers exposure to end-to-end production processes for scripted and daily shows, events, and third-party projects at Telemundo Center. The intern will assist with social media outreach, industry event recommendations, client newsletters, market analysis, service positioning, and website optimization. Additional tasks include organizing set catalogs, improving data collection efficiency, and collaborating across NBCU teams.

Telemundo Deportes

Telemundo Deportes, the sports division of Telemundo Network, delivers culturally relevant, high-quality sports content across multiple platforms, including live coverage of major events like Liga MX, Premier League, FIFA World Cup, NFL, NBA, and the Olympics. Intern responsibilities include assisting producers with planning and production tasks, coordinating logistics for guests and live shots, handling general office work, arranging travel for key production members, and supporting show elements such as music cue sheets, graphics research, and footage gathering to ensure smooth execution of broadcasts.

Technical Production

The Technical Production Intern will support the Studios and Control Rooms team during FIFA World Cup coverage, assisting with logistics, equipment runs, setup, and coordination across departments in a fast-paced live broadcast environment. The role offers exposure to diverse productions—news, sports, and entertainment—across Telemundo’s platforms. Key responsibilities include supporting technical and production staff with on-site logistics, equipment runs, and setup assistance, coordinating deliveries, credentials, and communication between departments, assisting in organizing and maintaining production areas, materials, and gear.

Production Management & Business Operations

The Production Management and Business Operations intern will gain hands-on experience in logistics, budgeting, reporting, and timeline coordination. Responsibilities include updating timelines in Airtable and Power BI, tracking milestones, monitoring expenses, and supporting onboarding and payment processes. The role also involves maintaining documentation and trackers, archiving wrap binders, assisting with cross-functional projects, and contributing to data collection, reporting, and dashboard development.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program. Spring 2026 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2026 internship program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 40 hours per week from June 1 – August 7, 2026.
  • Must be willing to work in Miami, FL.

For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.

NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.  

Desired Characteristics:

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred (written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet.
  • Pursuing a degree in Media Production, Broadcast Operations, Communications, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of television or live production environments preferred.
  • SEO knowledge.
  • Passion for sports broadcasting and interest in technical production workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive attitude with a strong sense of initiative and teamwork.

The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $19.00.

The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $25.00.
