Location Notice: This is a remote position.
Duration: Work is estimated to last 3 to 6 months but may go longer. .
Responsibilities:
- Design civil infrastructure supporting deep underground Small Modular Reactor’s: access shafts, surface support structures, earth retention, drainage systems.
- Conduct geotechnical assessments and design drainage and water control around shafts.
- Coordinate structural design with mechanical and electrical components.
- Ensure civil designs meet seismic, safety, and environmental requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (geotechnical or structural focus preferred).
- 5+ years with underground construction or nuclear facility civil design.
- Knowledgeable in geotechnical engineering, structural design (AISC/AASHTO), and drainage.
- Experience with DOE, NRC, or analogous regulatory frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer
