Cost Accountant
Skills
- 3-5 years traditional accounting experience with cost accounting exposure
- Minimum 1 year cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (3+ years preferred)
- Proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets for financial modeling and reporting
- Experience with procurement principles and financial/ERP systems
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear communication abilities
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain cost accounting across financial and ERP systems
- Review and analyze inventory, margin, and cost reports
- Prepare and ensure accuracy of inventory and gross margin schedules for management
- Perform standard costing and new product costings for bills of materials
- Compare standard costs to actual production costs and report variances
- Analyze cost impacts from design, materials, and manufacturing changes
- Prepare account analyses and reconciliations for inventory and project costs
- Support internal reporting needs including audit and tax schedules
- Report on performance versus budget and operational efficiency metrics
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Master’s degree or professional certification (CPA, CMA) preferred
