Software Engineer

This role works directly with our Lead Software Engineer to deliver enterprise-grade software solutions for Moneta's product development pipeline. This role is critical to our ongoing modernization from legacy systems to a modern microservices architecture. The Software Engineer will contribute significantly to full-stack development across React Native mobile applications, Node.js backend services, and React frontend applications while actively participating in our "3.0" infrastructure transformation. This position provides substantial technical autonomy and direct impact on products used by wealth advisors and their clients daily.

Essential Responsibilities

• Build and maintain full-stack applications including React Native mobile (iOS/Android), Node.js backend, and React frontend using TypeScript
• Contribute to microservices architecture development with controller-based design patterns
• Implement and optimize RESTful APIs with Express.js and TypeScript
• Design efficient database models and queries using PostgreSQL and Sequelize ORM
• Support data warehouse migration initiatives including Microsoft Fabric integration
• Work with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines for deployments
• Participate in code reviews with focus on quality, maintainability, and architectural alignment
• Collaborate with offshore development partners, providing technical guidance and knowledge transfer
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities and intelligent automation into software solutions
• Develop technical prototypes for new approaches and AI-enhanced software features
• Continuously improve development workflows and team coordination practices

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent technical field
• Experience: 3+ years of full-stack development experience with cloud-based applications
• Mobile Development: Expert-level React Native, Expo EAS, iOS/Android deployment
• Backend Development: Advanced Node.js, Express.js, TypeScript, RESTful API design
• Database Management: PostgreSQL, Sequelize ORM, database optimization, Microsoft Fabric experience a plus
• Frontend Development: React, TypeScript, responsive web development
• Cloud & DevOps: Azure services, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration
• AI Integration: Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities, APIs, and intelligent automation into software solutions
• Data Platforms: Palantir Foundry experience a plus but not required
• Collaboration Skills: Effective communication, offshore team coordination, and mentoring abilities
• Development Tools: Git workflows, Azure DevOps, Jira, automated testing frameworks

This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Lead Software Engineer.
