Software Engineer (Full-Stack, Legal Tech AI)

About the Role

Our client is a rapidly growing legal tech company (10x growth since launch in April 2024) backed by top-tier firms like Sequoia and Redpoint. Their mission is to make justice radically more accessible by building the infrastructure to automate administrative legal work, starting with personal injury. They combine expert operations with purpose-built AI to handle everything from client intake to demand management.

They are looking for a product-minded Software Engineer who wants to solve high-impact problems with urgency and ownership. You will be instrumental in turning the chaos of paper-based legal bottlenecks into clarity using well-designed systems and thoughtful software.

What You’ll Do

• Own Major Features: Design, build, and ship production-grade, end-to-end systems across core workflows, from architecture through release.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with product, operations, design, and legal experts to define and deliver real-world impact.
• Move Fast, Safely: Build systems with integrated safety, observability, and performance from the start, moving quickly without sacrificing quality.
• Help Set the Standard: Influence the engineering culture, stack, and practices of the company from the ground up.
• Work Onsite: Join the team in-person 4 days/week in NYC for high-context, fast-moving collaboration.

• 3+ years of experience in full-stack engineering, building reliable, secure software in production.
• Comfortable working full-stack (Python/Django, React, AWS, OpenAI & more).
• Write clean, maintainable code, and care deeply about testing, observability, and performance.
• Thrive in ambiguous environments and take pride in figuring things out.
• Care as much about product outcomes as you do about technical decisions.

• Salary: $160K - $250K (Flexible for exceptional talent.)
• Equity: Competitive
