Journeyman Software Developer

As a Journeyman Software Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and modern web applications for mission-critical projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including cloud engineers, DevSecOps, and UI/UX designers, to deliver innovative software solutions. Working in Agile environments, you will contribute to full-stack development, integrate APIs and third-party services, and help ensure software quality through testing, code reviews, and CI/CD processes. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, including AI-powered platforms, while contributing to impactful projects in secure and regulated environments. Accountabilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain front-end and back-end components of web-based applications.
• Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code aligned with industry and security best practices.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps, cloud engineers, UI/UX designers, and technical leads to deliver responsive and secure solutions.
• Integrate APIs, data models, and third-party services to extend system functionality.
• Support test planning, unit testing, and deployment activities, particularly in cloud environments.
• Document architecture, workflows, and code changes using SDLC tools like Jira, GitHub, and Confluence.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including CI/CD pipeline enhancements, system performance optimization, and application security.

• U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain Public Trust and eligibility for Secret Clearance.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in at least two of the following: C#, Node.js, React, TypeScript, Java, Python.
• Familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with Git and modern SDLC tools (GitHub, GitLab, Jira).
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web application architecture.
• Ability to work independently and effectively with distributed Agile teams.
• Preferred experience in DoD or federal contracting environments, cloud environments such as Azure Government, FedRAMP Moderate SaaS deployments, AI/ML integration, and knowledge of FISMA, DFARS, or NIST 800-53 compliance.
