Sr. Director, Communications (Americas)

Our Mission

As humans, there are few things more exciting than meeting someone new. At Tinder, we’re inspired by the challenge of keeping the magic of human connection alive. With tens of millions of users, hundreds of millions of downloads, 2+ billion swipes per day, 20+ million matches per day, and a presence in 190+ countries, our reach is expansive—and rapidly growing.

We work together to solve complex problems. Behind the simplicity of every match, we think deeply about human relationships, behavioral science, network economics, AI and ML, online and real-world safety, cultural nuances, loneliness, love, sex, and more.

About the Role

Tinder is seeking a Senior Director of Communications to lead communications strategy and execution across the U.S., Canada, and LATAM, reporting to the Global CMO. This role will shape regional and global narratives, guide executive visibility, manage high‑stakes issues, and lead a team of communications professionals and agency partners.

In this high‑impact role, you’ll scale Tinder’s voice across the Americas—partnering closely with Product, Marketing, Trust & Safety, and other cross‑functional teams to communicate new and evolving product features, safety commitments, and brand priorities. You’ll oversee consumer and corporate storytelling across media, social, and cultural moments, while ensuring alignment with global messaging.

This role calls for a hands‑on, strategic leader with deep regional fluency, strong product communications expertise, and the ability to move seamlessly between consumer storytelling and corporate communications in a fast‑paced, global environment.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead the Communications strategy for the U.S., Canada, and LATAM, ensuring consistency while tailoring narratives to regional audiences.
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team, investing in people development and strengthening both hard and soft skills.
  • Partner with Product to build and execute product communications strategies, clearly articulating the value of new and enhanced features.
  • Innovative and results-driven in reaching Gen Z through social, influencer partnerships, Substack-style publishing, and beyond.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop consumer-facing narratives that build brand love across social and cultural channels.
  • Serve as a company spokesperson, managing top-tier media relationships across multiple verticals.
  • Drive integrated communications campaigns that span product, brand, and corporate narratives.
  • Partner with executives to develop strategic internal and external communications, including speaking opportunities and thought leadership.
  • Use consumer insights and cultural trends to shape timely, relevant messaging.
  • Oversee budget management in partnership with Finance, approaching planning with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Support corporate communications efforts, including public policy and Government Relations alignment when needed.
  • Manage a complex stakeholder landscape, including Match Group functions, legal, and regional partners.

What We’re Looking For:
  • 12+ years of experience in communications or public relations, ideally in consumer tech or a fast-paced, global organization.
  • Proven people leadership experience with a passion for team development and mentorship.
  • Deep understanding of the U.S., Canadian, and LATAM media landscapes.
  • Strong background in product communications, with experience launching and managing consumer tech products.
  • Track record of creating high-impact campaigns that connect with diverse consumer audiences.
  • Established media relationships across tech, business, lifestyle, and regional press.
  • Experience as a company spokesperson, comfortable representing the brand externally.
  • Experience collaborating on corporate topics, including partnerships with Government Relations teams.
  • Confident in developing and delivering executive communications and strategy presentations.
  • Strong operational skills with experience overseeing budgets and working closely with Finance.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution, operating effectively across multiple stakeholders and time zones.

As a full-time employee, you’ll enjoy:
  • Unlimited PTO (with no waiting period), 10 annual Wellness Days
  • Time off to volunteer and charitable donations matching
  • Comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage
  • 100% 401(k) employer match up to 10%, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
  • 100% paid parental leave (including for non-birthing parents), family forming benefits, and Milk Stork, which provides access to breast milk shipping for business travel, surrogacy, and employee relocation
  • Investment in your development: mentorship through our MentorMatch program, access to 6,000+ online courses through Udemy, and an annual stipend for your professional development
  • Investment in your wellness: access to mental health support via Modern Health, and Insight Timer; paid concierge medical membership, pet insurance, fitness membership subsidy, and commuter subsidy
