About the Role
We are hiring a Mine Engineer – Drill & Blast Optimization to pioneer Mariana’s software-first approach to mine operations. In this role, you will:
Develop and implement drill & blast optimization systems that span sensors to ML-driven control.
Build out an ecosystem of technology partners, identifying and bringing critical capabilities in-house.
Surface operational insights in ways that support smarter, faster decision-making.
Engineer out non-value-added work and design scalable, automated workflows.
This is a high-impact role at the intersection of engineering, software, and operations. You’ll work across Mariana’s process, product, and data teams to prioritize the initiatives that deliver the most value.
Candidate Profile
Must Haves
8+ years open pit mining experience with a strong track record in drill & blast optimization.
Strong first principles problem solving skills.
Hands-on experience with in-house drill & blast optimization projects.
Nice to Haves
Underground mining experience.
Track record of collaborating with machine learning engineers, software engineers, data scientists, and data engineers.
