The Configurations Engineer will play a key role in driving cross-functional alignment across Mach’s product programs by managing capabilities, requirements, and configuration baselines from early concept through production and sustainment. This role is responsible for structuring clear, traceable requirements, maintaining configuration control across revisions and variants, and defining consistent maturity benchmarks that guide program progression. Working closely with engineering, program management, and quality teams, you will integrate technical deliverables into the broader product lifecycle and ensure that program objectives are aligned with stakeholder needs, regulatory standards, and internal goals. This role enables efficient product development through coordinated execution, lifecycle clarity, and disciplined management of requirements and configurations.
Lead capability and requirements management for each product program, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs, technical specifications, and regulatory standards.
Develop and maintain organized standard formatting across cross-functional teams, including traceability matrices and documentation standards.
Oversee configuration management for different revisions and variants of products, including version control, change tracking, and baseline establishment.
Manage the architecture within requirement management tools (e.g., Flow, DOORS, Jira, or similar), ensuring seamless flow of requirements from high-level design to detailed implementation.
Collaborate with engineering, program management, and quality assurance teams to integrate requirements into the product lifecycle.
Support program progression from early development stages (e.g., concept and prototyping) to advanced maturity (e.g., production and sustainment).
Conduct requirements verification and validation activities, including reviews, audits, and risk assessments.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in requirements and configuration management.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
5–8 years of experience in product development, engineering, program management or technical execution roles.
Proven ability to manage structured product definition, including traceable requirements, configuration baselines, and change control across evolving hardware or integrated systems.
Experience driving cross-functional alignment across engineering, quality, and program teams to support development through prototyping, production, and sustainment.
Skilled in translating stakeholder needs and technical constraints into clear, actionable documentation and decision frameworks.
Able to work on-site in Huntington Beach, CA.
Experience in the defense, aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
Familiarity with documenting and communicating product configurations, capabilities, and technical inputs across cross-functional teams.
Understanding of early-stage product development and iterative delivery cycles.
Exposure to configuration control, requirements traceability, or verification processes.
Master’s degree in Engineering, Product Management, Business, or related field.

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
