Job Summary
The Cain Department of Chemical Engineering seeks a postdoctoral researcher to lead research efforts related to electrochemical processes and materials. Current research focuses on energy storage technology, electrochemical CO2 reduction, and other electrocatalytic processes. The successful candidate will have a research background in electrochemistry, materials (electrocatalysts, membranes) and/or characterization (voltammetry, gas chromatography, FTIR, etcetera). This researcher is expected lead projects, supervise graduate and undergraduate researchers, engage in collaborative research, and produce products such as manuscripts, presentations and/or patents. The Cain Department of Chemical Engineering is located in a new building (Patrick F. Taylor Hall, 410,000 square feet) and includes several state-of-the-art research laboratories and a dedicated machine shop. Further, the LSU operates several research facilities including the NanoFabrication Facility and one of eight synchrotron sources in the United States at the Center for Advanced Microstructures and Devices. In this role, the postdoctoral researcher will enjoy access to these facilities and collaborations with leading academics and industry experts.
80% Conduct research and development related to electrochemical processes and materials, energy storage technology and electrocatalysts for CO2 ulitization. Prepare products such as proposals, manuscripts, presentations or patents.
10% Supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
10% Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Chemical Engineering or related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
10 or more years of experience in research and supervising undergraduate and graduate students.
