Staff Software Engineer (iOS/Swift & React Native)
Skills
- 10+ years software engineering experience with significant mobile focus
- 5+ years building and shipping iOS apps in Swift and strong SwiftUI/UIKit knowledge
- 3+ years of React Native at scale including native modules and performance profiling
- Experience designing reusable component systems, theming, and accessibility
- Familiarity with mobile data flows: REST/gRPC, GraphQL, streaming, and offline-first sync
- Strong testing, CI/CD, crash analytics, and observability practices
- Security and privacy best practices for PII/PHI in healthcare contexts
- Practical experience using AI to accelerate development and safely productize AI features
Responsibilities
- Own mobile architecture across iOS (Swift/SwiftUI/UIKit) and React Native focusing on modularity, performance, security, and observability
- Design and maintain reusable mobile component libraries aligned with design system, theming, accessibility, localization, and dark mode
- Implement AI-enabled features and visualizations that surface insights responsibly with privacy-by-design and auditable outputs
- Improve engineering standards: testing (unit/snapshot/e2e), CI/CD for mobile, OTA strategies, release automation, crash analytics, and telemetry
- Mentor engineers, drive design docs and ADRs, lead code reviews, and partner with Product, Design, Data Science/Medical, and Security
- Lead cross-team initiatives: performance, reliability, offline/edge sync patterns, startup time, and bundle size reduction
- Champion AI-assisted engineering workflows: secure prompts, verification practices, and developer productivity tooling
- Collaborate with Data Science/Medical teams to integrate model outputs safely into the UI with clear uncertainty/context visualization
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus but not required
