Skills
- Extensive Java development with Spring Boot and Hibernate in production systems.
- Strong relational database and data modeling experience (MySQL preferred).
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, AppDynamics, Prometheus.
- Design and implementation of scalable cloud architectures using public cloud services.
- Proven experience managing fully remote engineering teams in a startup environment.
- Experience with incident management, reliability engineering practices, and SRE collaboration.
- Product delivery experience including customer rollouts and timely market delivery.
- Security, compliance, and data protection best practices for cloud platforms.
Responsibilities
- Hire, build, mentor, and manage a globally distributed cloud platform engineering team.
- Set strategic direction and technical vision for platform architecture, reliability, scalability, and security.
- Own delivery of platform product commitments and define/measure engineering OKRs.
- Write secure, efficient enterprise-quality Java code and participate in peer code reviews (hands-on ~50% time).
- Drive cross-team process improvements and enable Product, Quality, and UX via strong partnership.
- Implement and maintain security, compliance, and data protection measures for the platform.
- Provide technical guidance, stay current on cloud technologies, and offer thought leadership.
- Interface with customer success and implementation teams to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues.
- Participate in incident management on-call rotation to help meet availability goals.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required).
- Master's degree in Engineering or related field (preferred).
