Software Engineer (Product)

Latent is building the intelligence infrastructure for American healthcare. Our products are already helping hospitals and clinics dramatically increase workflow output, speed up patient access to medications, and boost provider revenue. Our flagship multi-modal search and question-answering platform analyzes EHR data to surface the most relevant information, reducing operational overhead and improving care delivery.

About the Role

As a Product Engineer at Latent, you’ll build user-facing features that help pharmacy teams, clinicians, and care coordinators deliver better care. You’ll collaborate directly with users and founders to identify high-leverage opportunities, shape the product roadmap, and own projects end-to-end—from design to deployment.

This high-impact, high-ownership role is full-time and onsite in our San Francisco office.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build across the stack—from application logic to polished interfaces and internal tools

• Participate in user shadowing to gather feedback and deeply understand workflows

• Lead projects from prototyping through production and iteration

• Make thoughtful trade-offs between scalability, speed, and complexity in a high-sensitivity domain

• Help shape engineering our practices and product strategy

You Might Be a Fit If You…

• Are a builder with 5+ years of experience and a proven track record of shipping

• Thrive in high-ambiguity environments and work well with minimal oversight

• Have experience (or a desire to work) with:

  • Frontend: TypeScript, React, Node.js

  • Backend: Python, Postgres, Docker, AWS/Azure, Kafka/SQS (or similar)

• Have strong product sense and iterate quickly with a bias toward actiong product intuition and a bias toward fast iteration and continuous learning

• (Bonus) Have healthcare experience or passion for improving health outcomes

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $140,000 to $240,000 annually, in addition to equity and comprehensive benefits. Compensation packages are highly variable based on a variety of factors including experience and expertise.
