Join our growing Product Legal team of 10, embedded with Kraken’s Product, Design, and Engineering teams to ship novel products and experiences that accelerate the global adoption of crypto. We’re a tight, experienced group of product lawyers from a diverse range of tradfi, fintech, and crypto backgrounds who move fast, stay curious, and take pride in the commercial accountability of our advice - partnering directly with product teams to chart clear, defensible paths to launch.
This is a fully remote role for a lawyer licensed to practice in the United States or a qualified solicitor in the UK or admitted in an EU jurisdiction.
Global product counsel for Kraken products, including Listings, Onchain, and Embed
Provide end‑to‑end advice across ideation, development, marketing, launch, and lifecycle changes.
DRI for the Listings, Onchain, Embed, Desktop and Breakout product, development, and engineer sub-pods
Marketing and promotions review for these products/pods across the US/UK/EU.
Regulatory perimeter analysis relevant regimes post‑licensing, determining which features require additional permissions, disclosures, or structuring.
Stakeholder enablement – draft playbooks, templates, and risk assessments to accelerate compliant shipping.
Advise and write regulatory analyses on regulatory implications in US, EU, UK of onchain products,
Support product ideation and design, review output from token listings GPT, and confirm accuracy to provide final legal seal of approval (with the background of all relevant compliance frameworks: Bitlicense, US securities and and MiCA).
10+ years of relevant experience applying financial regulations (including MiFID), whether at a law firm or in-house
Detailed knowledge of MiCA
Mindset that is team-oriented, plus proactive and entrepreneurial: an opportunity-making person who uses the law to increase the company’s optionality, not decrease it
Interest in the crypto industry / what our company is offering to the world and why
A tech-forward lawyer with experience and enthusiasm for using LLMs to increase efficiency, create new frameworks, know-how libraries and custom GPTs.
Experience advising the Regulatory function of a fast-growing FinTech or crypto business as in-house counsel.
Experience or knowledge of MiFID.
Prior experience supporting product launches from inception of an idea to launch in multiple countries simultaneously.
