Skills
- Production backend expertise with Node.js and TypeScript (modern frameworks such as Fastify or Express).
- Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful and/or RPC-style APIs and integrations.
- Experience integrating AI/ML services (LLMs like OpenAI/Anthropic or ML APIs) into production.
- Familiarity with React/Next.js for occasional frontend contributions.
- Strong RDBMS and SQL skills (MySQL or PostgreSQL) including database design and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and services like ECS, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and application performance tooling.
- Product-minded approach and experience working with ambiguous requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines powering customer and internal applications.
- Architect scalable Node.js/TypeScript services and ensure seamless integration with frontend experiences.
- Own end-to-end delivery of integration projects with third-party lending systems including data synchronization and error handling.
- Contribute to AI-enabled features by integrating LLMs/ML APIs for ranking, scoring, and decision support.
- Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to deliver user-focused solutions.
- Champion best practices in architecture, security, testing, monitoring, and deployment.
- Provide mentorship, share knowledge, and take technical initiative across backend, infrastructure, and occasional frontend work.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to maintain system reliability.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced degree (MS) is a plus but not required.
