Simply put, our people are what make us great – we need forward-thinking, inspired game-changers like you to join us in our mission.
We are looking for a Product Manager to join Kin’s Growth team and take on one of the most critical challenges in scaling our business: making our workflows and processes simpler, faster, and more adaptable for building new and managing current insurance products. As we expand into more states and new lines of business, the complexity of our insurance platform grows exponentially—spanning regulatory requirements, compliance workflows, underwriting rules, and policy administration. In this role, you’ll be at the center of untangling that complexity by designing tools and systems that empower teams across Kin to operate with speed and precision, without heavy engineering dependencies. Your work will directly enable us to scale our product offerings with confidence, ensuring that compliance, risk management, and operational excellence stay seamlessly in lockstep with our growth.
This is a highly leveraged role: the solutions you build won’t just make individual processes more efficient, they’ll create a foundation that allows Kin to multiply its impact across states, products, and customer segments. You’ll work cross-functionally with legal, compliance, operations, design, and engineering to identify friction points, design intuitive self-service solutions, and implement scalable processes that accelerate our expansion. Success in this role means reducing bottlenecks, unlocking growth capacity, and helping Kin deliver new products to more customers faster — without sacrificing the rigor required in a regulated industry. If you thrive on solving hard problems with simple, elegant solutions and want to sit at the center of driving Kin’s next wave of growth, this role is for you.
This role blends short-term execution with long-term strategic impact. You’ll tackle immediate needs while laying the foundation for scalable growth across Kin’s products and states. Here’s what that looks like:
Own and improve our document platform (initial focus):
Develop and deliver a self-service solution that empowers legal, compliance, and operations teams to manage documents without heavy engineering lift
Ship quickly, learn from feedback, and iterate — while maintaining the precision regulators require
Balance building for long-term efficiency with supporting day-to-day business needs
Manage business-as-usual workflows:
Ensure timely delivery of forms and filings for new product launches and updates across dozens of products and states
Triage and prioritize incoming requests to protect engineering capacity for platform and process improvements
Expand into broader scaling challenges:
Identify opportunities to simplify and automate complex workflows across underwriting, compliance, and product development
Build tools and processes that allow Kin to scale to new lines of business and manage our existing ecosystem of products
Day-to-day product leadership:
Partner with engineering to size, plan, and execute projects
Write clear user stories and requirements that connect tactical work to big-picture goals
Use data and user insights to identify problems, measure impact, and refine solutions
Facilitate cross-functional decision-making across Insurance, Legal, and Compliance teams
Be both strategic and scrappy:
Roll up your sleeves on the grunt work when needed, but always keep an eye on the bigger picture
Connect your team’s daily work to Kin’s mission of making insurance simpler, smarter, and more scalable
Must-Haves:
4+ years of product management experience shipping products from 0→1, ideally in startup or rapid-growth environments
Experience in regulated industries (preferably insurance) where precision is non-negotiable
Detail-oriented with strategic altitude - can dive deep without losing sight of the bigger picture
Platform/tooling experience - building internal tools that enable other teams to move faster
Documented strategic thinking - creates product briefs, strategy docs, and roadmaps naturally
MVP mindset and iterative delivery approach, consistently evaluates and gains buy-in on intelligent trade-offs
Data-driven decision making with BI tools and basic SQL proficiency
Ruthless prioritization - turns incomplete or ambiguous inputs into concrete action plans
Cross-functional partnership with specialized teams (legal, compliance, risk)
Agile product development experience with clear user story writing
Strong communication skills - can motivate and influence without authority
Positive, collaborative mindset that values healthy conflict and stays cool under pressure
Strong project management and organizational skills
Nice-to-Haves:
Systems thinking and platform architecture mindset
Technical fluency with PDF generation, template systems, APIs
Leverage AI day-to-day to prototype solutions, drive decision-making, and amplify productivity
Design tools (Figma) or wireframing skills
Business rules engines or workflow automation experience
