Role Summary 

The Senior Director of Software Engineering is responsible for leading SASE product development teams to achieve core business objectives. This role acts as a manager of managers, driving strategic leadership across multiple products or product lines, and collaborating with business and engineering leadership to set and meet performance goals. 

Required Skills 

  • Recent leadership position in developing SASE solution is required 
  • Should have in depth knowledge about building Proxy services for SWG and ZTNA to support SASE platform 
  • Clear understanding of supporting a Utility Cloud Based and Multitenant SASE solution 
  • Working knowledge of DevOps workstreams, like CI/CD systems 
  • Strong hands-on leadership experience to solve customer incidents in SASE domain 
  • Ability and willingness to act as an agent of the company in employee matters, including leading tough conversations. 
  • Strong interpersonal awareness; able to conduct difficult performance and personal discussions with ease. 
  • Ability to communicate vertically and interact at all levels of management. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. 
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic roadmap planning, operations management leadership, and strategic planning (including cost management). 
  • Successful experience in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new employees. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with business leadership to establish roadmap, cost, quality, security, and reliability objectives, effectively utilizing assigned resources across multiple products or product lines. 
  • Partner with General Managers and Product Management to develop achievable product roadmaps and product operations strategies. 
  • Work with engineering leadership to set performance goals, including operational cost optimization and individual accountability. 
  • Lead as a manager of managers, implementing team- or product-wide employee management strategies and outcomes. 
  • Develop and implement staffing models based on financial, technical, and managerial strategies to meet required outcomes. 
  • Establish team performance objectives for technical contribution, accountability, career development, and company culture alignment. 
  • Coordinate with Human Resources, Finance, Recruiting, and other functions to obtain necessary support. 
  • Contribute to engineering strategy as needed, serving as an architect advisor, developer, or code reviewer. 
  • Drive process requirements and implement measurement systems to track accountability across engineering leadership teams. 
  • Collaborate with General Managers, Product Management, and Support to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and timely problem resolution.
