Principal Cloud Practice Architect

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Cloud Practice Architect in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Practice Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable, secure, and high-performance network infrastructures across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. In this role, you will spearhead complex cloud networking projects, provide strategic guidance, and mentor technical teams to ensure systems meet business goals and security standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect solutions that optimize connectivity, application performance, and operational efficiency. This position offers opportunities to influence enterprise-wide cloud strategies, implement cutting-edge technologies, and work in a flexible remote or hybrid environment with occasional travel across North America.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive network architecture for on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud platforms.
• Lead deployment of advanced network solutions including routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Architect connectivity between data centers and cloud platforms, managing complex AWS, Azure, and GCP configurations.
• Ensure secure network architecture through segmentation, access controls, and advanced threat protection.
• Monitor and optimize network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions for low latency and high throughput.
• Design and manage SD-WAN and CDN solutions to optimize traffic, improve application performance, and enhance user experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network strategy with business objectives.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and documentation to support junior engineers and team best practices.

• Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• AWS Solutions Architect certification required.
• Expert-level experience with core networking services, including VPC, Subnets, Route Tables, NAT Gateway, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, VPC Peering, and similar Azure/VNet configurations.
• Extensive hands-on expertise with Palo Alto Networks Firewalls (including Panorama), F5 BIG-IP products (LTM/GTM), and SD-WAN solutions (Prisma, Fortinet, Cisco).
• Strong knowledge of network security principles including Zero Trust Architecture, network segmentation, DDoS mitigation, and cloud security services (AWS WAF, Azure Firewall).
• Proven experience with CDN services (AWS CloudFront, Azure Front Door) and networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS).
• Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, mentor junior engineers, and provide strategic guidance.
• Willingness to travel 20–25% annually as required.
