About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and self-driven Senior Automation Engineer to join our QA and Engineering team. This is a hands-on role that demands strong technical expertise in automation testing frameworks, BDD methodologies, and a passion for delivering high-quality, scalable software. As a Senior Automation Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in designing and building robust automation frameworks from scratch, integrating with CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring reliable test coverage across the product lifecycle.

You will be working closely with developers, DevOps engineers, product managers, and other QA professionals to drive test automation initiatives that align with our quality goals and release timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and reusable automation frameworks for UI and API testing using tools like Selenium and custom API testing frameworks.
• Implement BDD-based test strategies using tools such as Cucumber, SpecFlow, or Behave to enable behavior-driven development and test coverage traceability.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
• Work with AWS-based environments to test cloud-hosted applications and services.
• Write and maintain clean, well-documented, and efficient test code.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on test coverage, risk areas, and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements, define test strategies, and implement solutions that improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.
• Perform data validations using SQL queries and ensure consistency across systems.
• Analyze and report defects, and support root cause analysis and resolution with developers.
• Mentor junior QA team members and promote best practices in automation and quality assurance.

Must-Have Qualifications & Skills

• 4+ years of experience in automation-heavy testing roles, with proven ability to build automation frameworks from scratch.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar for automation script development.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, BDD frameworks like Cucumber/SpecFlow/Behave, and custom API test frameworks using REST-assured or Postman/Newman.
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Exposure to AWS services and cloud-based testing environments.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL and ability to write queries for test data validation.
• Deep understanding of testing concepts, including test case design, test data management, regression testing, and test reporting.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or k6.
• Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Basic scripting in Unix/Linux environments for test automation pipelines.
