Are you a natural storyteller, passionate about sustainability and interested in driving positive change in the face of the triple planetary crises?

We’re looking for a strong communicator who can craft compelling, mission-aligned messaging that connects with diverse audiences and inspires action.

This role will shape how our organisation speaks—across digital platforms, fundraising appeals, reports, and press—ensuring consistency, clarity, and mission alignment in every message.

You’re a natural storyteller who can translate complex issues into clear, human-centered messages that move supporters, partners, and media alike.

RSB is seeking a talented and passionate Communications Manager – Messaging & Storytelling to join our dynamic international team. This role is ideal for a creative and strategic communicator with a strong background in marketing - especially in corporate sustainability or purpose-driven organisation - who excels at communicating complex sustainability and impact-driven initiatives to diverse audiences and stakeholders, from corporate to consumer.

The Communications Manager – Messaging & Storytelling will be key in raising RSB’s visibility, growing corporate engagement, and supporting our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. You will work closely with colleagues across programmes and partnerships to communicate our impact, promote our events and initiatives, and support the marketing of RSB’s sustainability programmes and their impact.

Bringing technical and scientific expertise to our communication team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and refining our core messaging frameworks, ensuring alignment with our mission, values, and strategic goals.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to translate complex sustainability content into clear, compelling communications – across multiple formats and platforms - for a range of audiences.
  • Writing and editing high-impact content, including blog posts, newsletters, website copy and campaign messaging with specific focus on communicating with corporate and institutional stakeholders.
  • Supporting RSB’s Executive Team in donor engagement, including marketing materials, fundraising pitches and proposals, newsletters, campaign content, strategic execution, and reporting.
  • Promoting RSB events and campaigns, with targeted outreach to priority audiences.
  • Staying current on best practices in marketing and sustainability communications, and bringing fresh, innovative ideas to enhance RSB’s outreach.
  • Analysing and reporting on marketing performance data to inform strategy and improve impact.
  • You are a clear, thoughtful communicator who can distil complex content into accessible, inspiring language.
  •  3+ years of professional experience in content marketing or brand strategy – ideally in corporate sustainability, or other related fields.
  • Track record of copywriting, editorial or creative writing.
  • Fluency in English
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing strategies and tools.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using content management systems and other relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings and events.
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles and practices in the bioeconomy is a plus.
  • Competitive salary
  • Excellent holiday provision with 30 days annual paid leave
  • Annual salary adjustments for cost-of-living increases
  • Flexible working hours
  • Remote work in home-office with periodic in-person team meetings
  • Professional development opportunities
