Position Summary:

The position plays a critical role in bridging product development and high-volume production. This role supports New Product Introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, ensuring products are designed and built to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The role will work closely with cross-functional teams and Contract Manufacturers (CMs), both locally and internationally.

Specific Duties:

New Product Introduction (NPI):

  • Lead and coordinate the implementation of manufacturing processes, line performance, testing (including GR&R), and process validation (CPK) to ensure on-time, on-budget product launches.
  • Provide regular status updates to program management.
  • Offer DFX/DFM (Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, and Test) feedback during product development.
  • Collaborate with the Delta Q on-site team to align project schedules, deliverables, and deadlines.
  • Support contract manufacturers (CMs) by reviewing PFMEA, control plans, and validation strategies.
  • Represent manufacturing in cross-functional teams to ensure product manufacturability and supply chain readiness.
  • Manage engineering change orders (ECOs) and schedule deviations to support product builds.
  • Coordinate CBOM releases with the NPI Buyer.
  • Lead the completion of CM checklists with factory teams through product launch to PVT.

Manufacturing Engineering:

  • Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes and product designs.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production and field issues.
  • Ensure adherence to lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, poka-yoke, etc.).

Collaboration with Contract Manufacturers (CM);

  • Work on-site with international CMs as needed to resolve production issues and drive process improvements.
  • Ensure timely implementation of engineering changes and process updates.
  • Support layout design, tooling, and test equipment development.
  • Facilitate training and standardization of work at CM sites.
  • Support initiatives to reduce waste, energy use, and environmental impact in manufacturing.
  • Support compliance with international environmental and safety standards (e.g., RoHS, REACH, ISO 14001).
  • Other duties as required.
  • Relevant education in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing, ideally in power electronics or automotive industries.
  • Strong understanding of DFMA, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, and control plans.
  • Hands-on experience with SMT/through-hole PCBA, cable harnesses, mechanical assemblies, and in-process testing.
  • Proficient in BOM management and engineering change control.
  • Demonstrated success in taking products from concept to production launch.
  • Excellent problem-solving, root cause analysis, and project management capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, including technical writing and reporting.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Hindi or Mandarin is a plus.
  • Able to obtain visas for China, Mexico, and India; willing to travel internationally and domestically as needed.
  • Proficient in PLM systems (e.g., Arena, Aras).

Base Salary: $105,000 - $122,000 per year plus bonus.

The compensation offered will be determined by experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills.
