Overview

Under the direction of the Executive Director, Oncology Service Line, Atlantic Health, this position, along with the Medical Director, Oncology Services, CentraState, will support the development of the regional oncology strategic plan and assure it’s successful execution.  The role also encompasses day-to-day operations  of the following areas, Radiation Oncology, OP infusion services, and the supportive care teams comprised of nurse navigators, genetic counselors, social work, and oncology dietitian.  Key areas of responsibility include operation and financial performance; quality and safety;  patient, team member and physician engagement; developing relationships with key community cancer organizations such as the American Cancer Society, working with various philanthropic organizations to raise awareness and funds to support our patients.  This position will work alongside Atlantic Medical Group’s  medical and surgical oncology practices. 

 

This position will work alongside Atlantic Medical Group’s medical and surgical oncology practices as well as a local/site-based reporting relationship to the Chief Nursing Officer, CentraState. 

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements and communicates the strategic and business plans that will meet the needs of patients and their families within the CSHS Service Area and expands market share.
  • Works with colleagues across the Atlantic Health Cancer Care network in developing and disseminating policies, procedures and programs.
  • Ensures the service line's contributions to the overall goals of CentraState are achieved.
  • Provides overall administrative management and coordination of various operational functions: financial planning, marketing, human resource management, space planning, and schedules.
  • Incorporates evidence based practice, current standards of care and research in planning, evaluating and implementing the continuum to ensure the service line provides state of the art, high quality care.
  • Evaluates the measurement of outcomes to determine priorities for improving systems and processes
  • Develops and implements effective strategies to link survivors with CentraState primary care physicians in a way which permits a seamless continuum.
  • Maintains all Cancer related accreditations and certifications for the service line.
  • Performs work without appreciable direction. Acts independently.
  • Plans programs and recommends programs to accomplish long range objectives.
  • Models, mentors and teaches staff.
  • Contributes to service line initiatives, strategies and quality improvement projects.
  • Represents CentraState at all system level meetings.
  • Supports and develops nursing research opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree is required, or the candidate must be on track to complete it within 12 months of hire.
  • 3-5 years of leadership/management and Oncology (inpatient or outpatient) experience required.
  • Current NJ RN license
  • OCN certification highly desirable
  • Proven track record in program development, marketing, planning and revenue growth
  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving abilities. 
  • Knowledge of new technology and advancements in oncology services, using good judgment in the early adoption of such advancements
  • Highly successful/comfortable in an integrated matrix environment

Compensation Range: $146,250 - $248,630 annually

 

The compensation above reflects the established range from CentraState Healthcare System (CSHS) for this position at the time the job was posted. CSHS considers many factors to determine compensation, including education, experience, skills, licenses, certification, and training.  As such, team member compensation may fall outside this range. 

 

Additionally, the compensation range reflects base salary and does not include extra shift rates or incentives tied to quality, productivity, etc., as applicable.

 

The benefits outlined also reflect CSHS’ policy at the time of posting.  Benefits as are made available to other similarly situated team members of CSHS, although participation is at all times in accordance with and subject to the eligibility and other provisions of such plans and programs. CSHS may modify its benefits plans or programs at any time.
