American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is dedicated to the success of businesses big and small with the vision to be essential to our customers’ businesses every day. As part of GCS, the Small Business Charge and Membership Rewards team sits within our Small Business Product, Loyalty and Experiences team. The Small Business Charge and MR team is responsible for end-to-end product management of our Charge product line including Green, Gold, Platinum, Centurion and our Small Business Membership Rewards program.

The goal of the Small Business Charge and MR team is to manage the card P&Ls to profitably grow our portfolio of products while continuing to innovate in how we design, communicate, acquire, and engage our customers. This team manages some of our largest portfolios – both in terms of number of customers and GCS gross contribution – and delivers on the core business needs of small and medium-sized businesses. 

The Senior Manager of Business Gold and Green will manage the ongoing health of our Core Charge portfolio to profitably grow our products while continuing to innovate in how we design, communicate, acquire, and engage our customers. This candidate will help define product line strategies and develop and implement tactics to increase customer acquisition and engagement. A successful candidate in this role will have a passion for and ability to design and manage products with a best-in-class experience. They will be an analytical thinker who can develop and execute winning strategies, think outside and beyond the box, and influence a variety of stakeholders.

 Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver product strategy development through financial, competitor, marketplace and customer-need driven analysis. Inclusive of design target, best customer and product line strategies
  • Serve as the primary Business Gold thought leader and product champion for all Acquisition Marketing and reporting
  • Define and drive strategy to increase awareness and usage of product benefits in partnership with Marketing and Business Development
  • Evaluate and influence strategies to drive quality prospect acquisition and increase product awareness while driving best-in-class economics
  • Identify and define business requirements and partner closely with New Product Development to design, build, test, and launch innovative benefits and experiences to support strategic initiatives
  • This role will also work closely with the U.S. Small Business Gold and Green Product Director to support other ad-hoc strategic initiatives

 Qualifications:

  • Experience in Product Management, Marketing, Consulting or Finance; Customer Marketing experience a plus
  • Strategic thinker with a strong customer focus and desire to understand and relate to small business owner needs
  • Ability to influence and lead projects with multi-band level, cross-functional teams, and align internal partners who have varying priorities
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset that embraces change and is adaptable to a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates critical thinking with a good level of understanding of product P&L drivers
  • Ability to collect and analyze data/insights to drive winning strategies
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to present to senior leadership
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and project management skills

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
