How will you make an impact in this role?

The Analyst, Amex Ads Operations role sits within the Digital Advertising team and reports to the Director, Amex Ads Product & Business Operations. This individual will support the launch and execution of Amex’s digital advertising network, which is focused on introducing new channels for advertisers to engage Amex’s customers across our digital platforms (e.g., Amex Travel, Resy, Amex App).

This individual will support the end-to-end execution of digital advertising campaigns, which includes generating media plans & insertion orders, forecasting ad inventory, receiving creative approvals, ad trafficking and optimization, troubleshooting, reporting on campaign performance, and billing. This individual will also support the creation of robust ad execution processes and controls to help the Digital Advertising team scale. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Generating media plans & insertion orders: Develop media plans with lead relationship owners aligned to advertiser campaign objectives (e.g., campaign flight dates, budget, targeting strategy)
    • Translate media plan into an insertion order for the advertiser to sign
  • Forecasting ad inventory: Forecast potential ad performance and delivery and use these insights to refine media plans
  • Receiving creative approvals: Manage the creative approval process, ensuring all legal & compliance requirements are met and all necessary signoffs are received
  • Ad trafficking and optimization: Activate and manage onsite display ads using Google Ad Manager (GAM)
    • Own all aspects of campaign production & execution for onsite media display offerings, including ad unit development, campaign creation, trafficking tags & creative, targeting implementation, and campaign quality checks and assurance
    • Manage and track onsite ad inventory and performance
    • Monitor onsite display performance and produce regular reporting, including weekly pacing reports, executing any required in-flight optimizations
    • Ensure campaigns deliver against performance expectations
  • Troubleshooting: Support troubleshooting and reconciliation processes, serving as the escalation point around all operational issues
  • Reporting on campaign performance: Develop mid and post-campaign reports for advertisers, pulling in key ad performance metrics and producing insights and recommendations
  • Billing: Support advertiser billing and payment collection
  • Process creation: Design robust ad execution processes and controls. Document these processes and support development of future operational roadmaps and process maps

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in advertising operations, specifically in setting up and activating campaigns, trafficking tags and creative, pulling pacing and ad inventory reports, and executing campaign optimizations
  • Proficiency in and hands-on experience with Google Ads platforms, preferably with experience using Google Ad Manager
  • Understanding of digital advertising or media best practices for campaign planning and execution
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop insights
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • A strategic approach to execution, including an ability to identify process improvements
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
