Staff Software Engineer - Forward Deployed

Invisible Technologies builds an enterprise AI operating system that structures messy data, deploys agentic solutions, and mobilizes human expertise. They are hiring a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer to lead end-to-end, client-facing AI systems — owning architecture, deployment, and delivery while mentoring mid-level engineers and building repeatable platform components.

Skills

  • 8+ years building backend, data, or ML systems with production deployments
  • Deep proficiency in Python and LLM/ML frameworks (Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI ecosystem)
  • Experience with API-driven deployment (FastAPI), containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes
  • Cloud deployment experience (GCP and/or AWS) and infrastructure trade-off decision-making
  • Familiarity with orchestration, pub/sub systems (Kafka), and schema/governance practices
  • Strong data operations knowledge: Delta/ETL pipelines, data contracts, quality enforcement, replay
  • Proven client-facing communication skills and ability to lead technical conversations

Responsibilities

  • Partner with delivery and executive stakeholders to scope and lead AI solution implementations
  • Identify and convert ambiguous, messy workflows into repeatable, production-grade systems
  • Design architecture and lead trade-off discussions across performance, cost, scalability, and reliability
  • Own projects from discovery through deployment and post-launch iteration, including client-facing delivery
  • Build shared infrastructure, reusable components, and internal playbooks to scale the team's impact
  • Coach and mentor mid-level engineers and help define forward-deployed AI engineering practices
  • Be on-call for customers and travel roughly 25–50% for on-site client engagements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field OR equivalent professional experience
